About this tool

Rotate an image to any angle and flip it horizontally or vertically. Use it to fix a sideways phone photo, mirror an image for design layouts, or rotate a scan to the correct orientation. Quick, in-browser, no upload — the image stays on your device.

When to use it

  • Fixing a sideways phone photo so it displays correctly on every device
  • Mirroring an image horizontally for a design or layout reason
  • Rotating a scan that came in upside-down or sideways
  • Producing a flipped variant of a product photo for a layout
  • Correcting orientation issues from older photo apps that didn't honour EXIF

What to expect

Standard rotations (90°, 180°, 270°) are lossless — pixels are simply rearranged. Arbitrary angles (e.g., 5°) require interpolation and add small softness; transparent or matte fills any new corners exposed. Flipping is always lossless.

Frequently asked questions

Are 90-degree rotations lossless?

Yes. Rotating by 90°, 180°, or 270° just reorders the pixel grid — no quality loss. Other angles need interpolation, which introduces a small softness.

What happens to the corners when I rotate by an arbitrary angle?

New triangular regions are exposed at the corners. They're filled with transparency (PNG/WebP) or a chosen background colour (JPG). To remove them, crop the result.

Can I rotate based on EXIF orientation automatically?

Modern browsers usually auto-rotate based on EXIF when displaying. The rotation is then applied to the visible orientation, so it should match what you see. If your source has unusual EXIF, the result may differ — check the output.
